April 21, 2018, 7:51pm. Petty Theft. 19 year old Caucasian male, 5’4” was caught on camera sneaking a piece of jewelry into his pocket. The suspect attempted to leave the store without paying, appearing to try and avoid detection of theft. The Loss Prevention Officer managed to collect the item from the suspect before bringing him into the back room for questioning. While in custody, the suspect was uncooperative and difficult during transfer, necessitating a full cavity search to look for additional, undeclared items. Extra steps were taken to ensure the safe retrieval of merchandise, including the presence of a second Loss Prevention Officer. An understanding was reached by the suspect and the Loss Prevention Officer, and he was released without involvement of law enforcement. $200.00 retail value recovered without incident.
